WEBINAR DESCRIPTION

Med Waiver providers are entrusted with the responsibility to care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities(I/DD). The COVID-19 pandemic has magnified the stressors experienced by both providers and program participants. Additionally, the I/DD population is especially vulnerable and susceptible to greater health risks due to chronic illness and dual diagnoses. These increased risk factors demonstrate the need to equip providers with new coping skills and strategies in order to support participant health and wellness and to foster greater resiliency.

This webinar will focus on addressing the unique needs of the I/DD population and will equip providers with enhanced tools to help individuals and staff deal more effectively with internal and external stressors that can impact health outcomes. During this webinar, subject matter experts specializing in behavioral health and crisis intervention will provide strategies to:

  • Increase provider awareness and education regarding the impact of environmental stressors.
  • Provide strategies to create healthy environments that promote wellness.
  • Provide additional tools to foster resiliency among providers and program participants.
  • Inform providers of community resources that are available to provide additional support.

*Please Note: Certificates will only be issued for those who attended the live session of this webinar.
